Country doctors usually traveled to visit their patients, which typically were on remote farms. Some conveyances were plain box-type bodies but often they were more elaborate (and more comfortable). Remember, the doctor was a very important member of the community. This model dates from the mid-1880’s. Its gracefully curving body and extra large wheels added to the comfort of the ride on the dirt roads.
