Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) have taken "lighting" by storm recently. Their fundamental advantages are very low power requirements, astounding durability and very long life.
We have discovered a system for reading and working in directed-lighting applications (airplane travel and bedtime situations etc.) It's Remarkable for its replaceable heads that have 4 LED's for extra brightness. The heads simply plug-in and can be changed instantly, even while in use. Designed and made in Taiwan.
A White-light Head is standard, and it is the brightest of all, with bluish-white illumination. It is probably preferred for standard use. The Yellow-light Head also produces an easy-reading illumination, but in a softer color and, we think, it is a bit easier on your eyes. The Red-light Head is a medium-red color and is safest when you need to preserve night vision. The Blue-light Head is a nice medium-blue in color.
These Lamps use an 11" fully swiveling goose-neck fitting which allows you to position the illuminated Head at exactly the best distance from the surface.
The Battery Powered model draws power from 3 standard AA batteries (not supplied). Its aluminum base is 1-3/8 x 7-3/4" in size. The base and gooseneck make it particularly handy for making repairs in confined or remote areas, where a normal drop light is too big (or too hot) and a flashlight can't be aimed properly - for example, work under the sink and behind the dishwasher.
