Mass production of brass mounted boxwood folding rules was in full swing on both sides of the Atlantic by the mid-1800s. Fitting perfectly in the breast pocket of a workman’s overalls, the brass-mounted 2-Foot 4-Fold Rule was highly favored by joiners, carpenters and tradesman for durability and convenience. The triple-arch joint was considered the strongest type of folding rule, and consequently was the most expensive.
We have an extremely limited quantity of Triple Arch 4-Fold 2-Ft. Boxwood Rules. “Warranted Boxwood” and other stamped markings. Inch rule graduated in 1/16”, 1/12” and 1/10”. Includes inch/foot scale and quarter-inch/foot scale. Alignment pins.
