There are dozens of ways to open an envelope. But one of the classiest is surely a brass and polished steel tool designed for the purpose. Here are two that meet our standards – from England and Italy.
The longer model is 9-1/2". It’s elegant with solid brass grips. The slightly smaller one is 7-1/2" long and is much lighter and more maneuverable (the grip is brass plated) – but it has the great virtue of having a 6" rule etched on the surface. This writer is forever reaching at home for a ruler to measure a small object– and this tool is far handier than a tape and always right at hand. Take your pick. They’re both great.
