Award winning decoy carver Len Yule has used the Boker Congress model 4-blade knife for years because of its high carbon steel blades. Len asked Boker if they could redesign the blades to meet the needs of the whittler, and Boker did just that. Solid brass liners and nickel silver bolsters. Len Yule endorses it as just what he was looking for: 4 beautiful blades, each for a different job. The closed length of the knife is 3-5/8". Made in Solingen, Germany.
Knife is well made, sharp, and I expect many years of service from it.

I hate to say how many carving tools I own, way more than I or any other carver needs. I have a thing for well made and well thought out tools. This knife was obviously designed for the serious whittler. I have a drawer full of pocket knives but I carry this one. I have found whittling to be a very satisfying and relaxing art form that allows room for the constant improvement of skills, it is a true craft. Boker is top shelf, this one comes sharp and ready to go. Perfect for figure carving or just shaving wood.
February 2013 Rate & Review Grand Prize $100 Winner. Congratulations, Allen!!

Boker Pen Knife
Charles Qualls (Eastland , TX)
I have owned Boker pocket knives before and lost my first one some time ago. They are of great quality and I rate them the best of all knives I have owned. I own other Boker models as well.

Boker Congress Whitler
H.C. (Clover, SC)
This knife is excellent. I do not use it for carving per se. I just use it period. I've actually bought a couple of extras in case I ever lost mine. The quality is first rate, the steel holds an edge very well and sharpens well. The fit and action when opening or closing is nice and snug. It fits my hand nicely and is comfortable to use and carry. You will not be disappointed. A lot of bang for the buck as they say. HC

Boker Whittler's Penknife
Josh Rappaport (Santa Fe, New Mexico)
This knife looks pretty nice in the photo, and I'm glad to say that it looks even better in 3-D reality. The blades have a nice solid mechanism, and the wood is real and rich. I've been whittling for a short-time now, and while I'm hardly an expert, I do know enough to be able to appreciate a good blade. The blades on the Boker will not disappoint. The big blade has plenty of heft for removing large amounts of material. But the knife really shines when you use the smaller blades The small rounded blade, in particular, has a remarkably subtle action. I found I was able to shave off finer slivers of wood with this knife than any other I've used. Working on fairly hard wood, the action was so effective that it was as if I was whittling soap. And this is before I even added my own sharpening to the blades. My only complaint about the knife is that the blades do not lock. The big blade has a slight tendency to move when you're working it. Of course, it's possible that this will stop happening as I gain more experience. But still blade locks would preclude the problem and do nothing to impair the knife. Overall, though, I am quite happy with the appearance, workmanship and performance of this penknife.

A real gem
Barklay (durham, nc)
I am a wilderness rescuer who spends a fair bit of time in the woods waiting for an assignment or to be picked up by helicopter. I have always carved things from wood to pass the time and finally decided to get a professional tool. This knife is a real gem. The craftsmanship and quality of materials are immediately noticed in hand. The blade springs are tuned perfectly and the blades edges have yet to be in need of sharpening after many uses. The weight and size are perfect for your pants pocket. I wholeheartedly recommend this knife for anyone aspiring to do more than just waste time.

This is a joy to whittle and crave with !
I got it so I could carve a Cub Scout neckerchief slide for my grandson and it was PERFECT for the work. Holds an edge like a champ and the smaller blades were just the ticket for the close detail work. Worth every dime.

One of the nicest Whittlers
Ron Cooper (Cashmere, Washington)
This is with out a doubt one of The Nicest pocket knife I have ever held. It is a fairly large knife, so it fits my large hands very well. It's a Boker so you already know the best quality is there. The blades come sharp, but could use a slide on a fine ceramic stone to get to where I would say they were good and sharp. It feels great when working the wood also. The choice of four blades means a lot to me. From heavy duty wood removal to fine line carving this knife has the all covered. If you only have room for one pocket knife I would highly recommend this one. For me it is the perfecy knife.
