The vast majority of your drill bits (perhaps all of them) will be of the relatively short standard or jobber lengths. But when you need a long drill, (perhaps to drill through a wall) you really need it. It's just that simple.
These are 12" long. The 1/8 and 3/16" sizes in this length are a particularly unusual find. You can get either set separately, but together they are a fine bargain.
