The blade of this knife is made two layers of laminated steel-one very hard to keep a keen edge, the other softer, for toughness and durability, hammer-forged into one piece (like samurai swords) and super sharp.

Such knives are generally fixed-blade; this one is a folding model with a hardwood handle, and is ideal for the garden, shop, or toolbox. 4" long when fully open.

Made in Japan.

  • Time Tested

Glenn Geist, 5/3/2015 I've owned one for 5 years now and it's become the one knife I use around the garden and for opening boxes and rough work. It's still sharp. It's indestructible and will probably outlast me. Best of all it's ugly so I don't have to baby it like the expensive knives that stay in the drawer.
  • Cool Blade!

Eric, 10/5/2014 I love this knife. It is neat to see how the blade was made - the hard steel on the edge and the softer steel in the back. I bought it to use when whittling and carving.
  • It Grows On You - A Very Handy Tool To Own.

Larry Crowder, 6/23/2013 As I become accustomed to this instrument, it has begun to make its unique talents known. The single edge bevel is very handy in certain circumstances, and the sharp point can't be beat when the need to puncture arises. A most welcome addition to my tool cabinet!
  • The Best Knife

Daniel, 6/7/2011 The is the best knife I have owned. Very sharp and great for carving.
  • Blade Fitting

Dave Gowan, 9/7/2010 Extremely sharp blade, but poorly cut/fitted/finished/ stock badly riveted. Very tight fit dangerous to open. Trimmed wood but still very dangerous. Cuts, trims very well. A very good blade poorly accoutered.
  • Nice Basic Knife

Matt, 8/23/2009 If you appreciate a basic knife like Opinel, you'll love this. It's simple but well-made of good materials, sharpens easily, and is comfortable to use. Mine is going in the camping kit as a piece of essential gear.
  • Decent, Basic Knife

  • Excellent

Mike, 4/27/2009 I am extremely impressed with this knife. Tough, with a simple rustic look. The blade is excellent -- and extremely easy to sharpen.
  • Rugged Knife

Alan, 4/14/2009 Very tough knife. Easy to sharpen. Appears it will rust very easily.
