Now, those homeowners or woodworkers who are especially tight on space can have a solid folding bench to work on that will "disappear" along the wall when the space is needed for other activities (such as parking the car). The top, legs, and structural stretchers are solid red beech. Some flat carcass panels are necessarily high-quality, high-density, beech-faced composition board.

Shipped by truck, freight prepaid, for a fixed trucking surcharge of $125 (Click Here for trucking details) for delivery to the 48 contiguous states. (This charge is a fraction of the full trucking cost.) Additional charges will apply for delivery to AK, HI and PR or for special handling services. Note: This bench will only be shipped within the United States.

More Info
The bench surface is a total of 8-1/2 sq ft, sized 28 x 43-1/2 (including the rear tool tray). The two storage drawers and the shelf are each 7-1/2" deep and 14" wide. The top is fitted with two standard woodworking vises with faces 10-1/2" and 16-1/2" wide and with the usual steel guide rods and acme threaded spindle. The Tail vise is fitted with a bench dog slot and the top itself has 8 bench dog holes in it matching one in the Tail Vise.

The Top is swiveled on two large steel pins. Folding the legs against the back allows the top to swing down neatly flush with the main frame. When thus "closed", the bench is only 10" deep. (The top shelf is 49" off the floor.) We recommend that you use two screws (furnished) through the back of two of the drawers into studs or suitable anchors to provide stable fixing to any wall. Assembly of the frame is required (top comes already together). This should not take more than 1 hour to complete. Weight 155 lbs. Made In Czech Republic.

  • Very Good System

Ray, 1/8/2014 I have read a number of people who had stability issues with this unit. Yes if it is installed improperly it will be very unstable but there is a drill hole to screw this into a stud in your wall. Once you put this one screw in it becomes Very Stable. I have put large amounts of weight and long pieces of wood on this table and it handled it without issue. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 star is the shipping cost, other than that, it is a 5 star system.
  • A Good Compromise

Richard Baer, 8/18/2013 All things considered, when space is at a premium, this is as much of a woodworkers bench as you can find. Mine is in small laundry room converted into a workroom. The fold-down capability is nice when I need more floor space. Being on sale didn't hurt, either.
  • Definitely Need Improvement

Dave, 5/2/2013 My Dad bought this workbench hoping for a great traditional wood working bench. Unfortunately stability and practicality are sacrificed in order to make it collapsible. I would feel very comfortable using this for small ship building or some craft requiring no force. However, the vises are worthless as there is no way this bench would stand up to planning or any kind of firm horizontal movement. Also, for 800+ dollars there should never be a bit of high density board anywhere on it. For my money I would rather get a butcher block top with Steel base at my local big box store for $200.
  • Needs A Little Tweaking

Radoc, 2/23/2010 This workbench is very functional and makes nice looking addition to the workshop but could stand an improvement or two. It is fairly easy to put together but the final assembly requires two if not three people. The side pieces are of a dense fiberboard material. For the price it would have been nice if they could have been solid wood. The table is heavy and well made and the vises come up true. The legs do not however connect to the table in the upright position and it would be possible for the whole bench to fall if you were working aggressively such as with planing or sanding. The legs were pre-drilled for what looked like a dowel or peg. I put a metal rod in place which fits into the underside of the table and makes the bench much more secure. Also, the table moves back and forth on the hinge pegs by about 1-2 inches which is suboptimal if you are looking for stable working surface. I made a small wooden wedge which fits on one side and tightens everything up nicely. Although there are some issues with this workbench, I have used it for several projects and it has performed well. If you are tight for space, this bench is a good option.
  • Perfect Workbench For Apartment Living

Christopher S., 7/26/2009 I purchased this workbench out of the need for a hobby table (I build RC boats) and it has turned out to be much more useful. My wife and I have used it during the minor renovations to our apartment, for maintaining our bicycles, for a craft table that we don't mind mucking up and scratching. The top is rather heavy and folding it up against the wall takes two people to accomplish comfortably. The vise s are sturdy, well built and apply even pressure. The assembly of the bench is moderately difficult due to the weight of the materials, so have someone there to help. All in all an excellent, solid workbench that I definitely recommend.
