Remember the classic Yankee Push Drill that was once found in every shop and every jobsite tool bag? Made by Stanley for decades until they dropped it in early 2004, it was made of chrome-plated solid brass, and beautifully finished. Now we have had it custom-made for Garrett Wade.

This is a beautiful, fast-working, and very special tool, made of the same materials and furnished with original double fluted bits. Every woodworker should have one of these in his or her "quiver" because it is so useful. As you push down, the bit rotates clockwise, cutting the hole, When you stop pushing, the handle springs up and the bit rotates in the other direction - essentially self-clearing.

The bits are stored in the top of the handle and are easy to access. Just slip the size you want (any one of eight - 1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 11/64") into the collet chuck, put the drill tip on the surface and push. Makes a hole up to 1-1/2" deep. The entire mechanism is protected inside the steel cover. Incidentally, if you have an old Stanley Push Drill, our Spare Set of 8 Bits should fit it.

We also now stock replacement bits (3 each pack) of the four most popular (and fragile) of the smaller bits. (Note: These are more expensive to make than the larger bits.)

My Push Drill
Reviewed By:   (Freeport, Illinois)
I'm a fix-it type older man who has about every tool a fellow can have. Often times I needed a drill to make a simple hole without lugging out my cordless units which usually needed charging. This Garrett Wade push drill is (for me) a real time saver and it does a great job. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Disappointed
Reviewed By:   (Scottsdale, AZ)
Don't be fooled. This is nothing like the original. Don't waste your time and money. The first drill shipped had a defective lock on the storage handle for the bits. It arrived open in the box with the bits spilled in the box. Every time I tried to use the drill the storage compartment popped opened and spilled the bits. I return the product for an exchange. The replacement had a lock so tight on the storage compartment, that I could not access the bits! Again, don't waste your time and money on this drill.

Handy Man
Reviewed By:   (Dunedin, FL)
I located my fathers Yankee Handyman #1633H b/4 purch. a new push-drill for bldg. a model sailing ship. Only need new bits. Works stiff but with care & proper cleaning it should work with ease sometime soon.

Best Tool Ever
Reviewed By:   (Chico, California)
No HOUSE/TOOL SHOP SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE! If you want to drill a small hole - use the Yankee Push Drill. NO pulling out the electric or battery operated drill motor, and NO looking for the right drill bit. This Tool is light weight and "can't do without" Handy. I have my Grandfathers (which is worn out after more than 100 years) and my Fathers newer version from the 1950's. I just ordered two new ones which are well worth the expense and convenience.

A Great Yankee Push Drill
Reviewed By:   (San Diego, California)
I owned 2 push drills I inherited from my father. One was a brass beauty about the size of this one. The other was a much larger Yankee. Both had overstayed their time on earth due to the dearth of replacement bits. The GW push drill is well made and works like a charm. A little hard to compare tools over 60 years old, but at least equal to. Excellent quality and great feel. I am so happy to find this tool! I am going to send one to my brother as a memorial to our Dad, who loved great tools.
