We matched a Mora of Sweden carbon steel knife with a Trail Blazer (of Canada) stainless steel Belt Axe to make a lightweight, versatile and very sharp Camp and Trail Set for hikers, hunters and backpackers, as well as a handy utility set for any number of chores around the house, garden or farm.
Made of 1095 carbon steel hardened to HRC 59-60 with a hard plastic handle cast directly to the tang and a patterned high friction rubberized grip, the Mora Knife has an overall length of 8-5/8" with a 4" blade. The knife securely snap-locks into its molded thermoplastic sheath which features a snap-close hook for belt or pack loop. Weighs 3-3/4 oz. including sheath.
The Trail Blazer Mini Belt Axe weighs just 13.6 oz, with an indestructible 10" polypropylene handle and 3-1/2" stainless steel (440C) blade. The handle is ergonomically engineered to reduce stress and fatigue by keeping your wrist in a natural position during use, and features a hardened steel butt for hammering. The reinforced nylon and leather sheath features belt loops, however the whole set (axe and knife) could easily be carried in a pack taking up the least amount of weight and space.
