Beautiful small-sized ductile iron planes
This Modelmaker's Plane is what we used to call a handled palm plane, and is similar to the old #100 made by Stanley (starting in 1898 but discontinued in the 1950's, except for cheap foreign-made copies). In this improved version, the A-2 tool steel blade is very thick, and set at a low 12° angle, considerably improving performance over the original, particularly in figured grains. A fabulous little tool for model and instrument making and, more importantly, for furniture makers needing to fit that small piece or make a delicate final adjustment.
The Pocket Block Plane has an A-2 steel blade, also bedded at 12°, for improved work on difficult grained woods. It's a perfect companion to the Modelmaker's plane - just a bit larger overall. They provide terrific value in tools of such high quality.
