( An innovative forging process, with state of the art compression and heat treatment techniques, has produced a very tough chisel blade with significant elasticity and a remarkably keen and durable edge, rivaling even the highest-end hand-forged Japanese sets.
The 8" intermediate length (a bit longer than traditional butt chisels) gets your hand close to the work, for precise control and enhanced feel. Finished to a very high standard, the chrome-vanadium steel blade is flat-ground, polished, then flat-ground again—with a large, oil-finished ash handle, and an end-ferrule (hoop) for striking. The handle is exceptionally comfortable, and provides a very solid grip and working feel.
The chisels are hardened to Rc61 along their entire working length, with a 30° bevel. Nominal metric sizes 12mm (1/2"), 16mm (5/8"), 20mm (3/4"), 26mm (1") and 30mm (1-1/4"), and fitted in a well-made beech case. A special gift for any woodworker!
