Made in Canada by the same firm that makes our very popular Bypass & Anvil Loppers, the wavy pattern of the 8-1/4" long blades makes cutting easier (the pattern promotes a constant shearing action). The handles are easily adjusted from 13-1/2" in length to 21-1/2" using 4 positive click-indent stops. This allows you to trim close and far away as well without moving around—a great advantage for larger hedges.

Poor Quality

Bought these shears over a year ago. The first couple of times they worked well. Then late Summer, the right side of the shear pulled out of the handle. This year the same thing happened again with the added insult that the right handle came apart when I tried to extend handles. Will not purchase these again.

Thank you for your review on the Telescopic Hedge Shears. We are sorry to hear that you received, what we think, is a defective tool. The one you seem to have is a later design by Trailblazer, and we had a fair amount of trouble with the handles coming either apart, or off. We have issued a credit toward your account. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Lightweight But Substantial

These shears complete my collection of tools from this Canadian manufacturer--I think I have the whole catalog. They're sharp, good looking and a nice weight. I also have both their bypass and anvil loppers and their pole pruner, and I love each piece. I'm always amazed at the quality of design and construction when I use them. I've gotten rid of my old pruners and shears and don't know how I kept them so long.

They are not strong enough for light to moderate duty trimming, but they look great.

I have the same clippers as mentioned critically in another review. I use them here on our 'jungle' growth and at my mountain home in NC. I have not had a single problem with them. Mine are probably 7 years old. Perhaps there has been a change in manufacturing, but I couldn't be happier with the performance of my clippers. BTW, I also got the bypass loppers, and they are excellent also.

Update to Bad Quality

Garrett Wade contacted me and made things right. There are very few businesses that take care of their customers the way Garrett Wade does. I still cannot recommend the shears, but a resolution was handled very well by Garrett Wade. The 5 stars is for Garrett Wades customer service.
