Made of high carbon, martensitic stainless steel (DSR 1K6, hardened to Rc 58), with red oak handles and steel ferrules. The Bamboo Hatchet is 12-1/2" long with a 6-1/2" blade that is 3/16" thick at the spine and beveled on both sides.
The gently curved back of the 9-3/8" Garden Hatchet creates a natural fulcrum point – in use it feels like an extension of your hand. The 4-1/2" blade is beveled on one side only, and weighs 6-1/4 oz.
Both hatchets are excellent for splitting kindling, and for a host of other cutting projects. Each comes with a woven nylon sheath.
