Seamlessly matching a countertop to an irregular wall profile. Restoring historically accurate custom trim without caulk or filler. Carving snug, hand-in-glove joints in massive quarter ton logs. Challenges like these call for a uniquely specialized tool that is used to transfer the contours of one shape onto another, known as a transfer scribe.
The best scribe we have ever used is the Veritas Transfer/Log Scribe. Constructed of zinc-aluminum alloy with brass fittings and a double-ended hardened steel scribing pin. The rotatable double-level post can be adjusted and locked in any position on either axis, and is calibrated so that any opening can be used once the bi-directional bubbles are adjusted and locked for given projections. The scribe can be used with the steel pin and pencil, or with 2 pencils for double-scribing. Includes a hard-shell foam-lined case and 1 pencil.
