We are great enthusiasts for the handiness of traditional oil lamps and for their lovely, soft light. In fact, one of the original makers of oil lamps was a company named "Dietz" located right here in New York in the 19th century. These are the only lamps of this style we have found that are not made in Asia.

After a long search, we found a high quality German maker. These are virtually impossible to accidentally blow out. Fill with kerosene (or lamp oil). Adjust the wick until you get the highest, smoke-free flame. There is a built in "lifter" to raise the glass (for lighting and extinguishing).

These are 10" high to the crown, 15-1/4" with the bail fully raised. Freshly filled with kerosene, they will burn for about 20 hours. We offer these in two durable, baked-on lacquer colors (red & dark green) and in Natural Bright Tinned. (Sorry the blue and black are no longer available.)

Buy 3 or more of any color and Save 10% - reducing the cost to $29.66 each, a $3.29 per lamp Savings

Silver Shines Mostly

I might add that since we've never owned another lamp, we don't have a basis for knowing durability or quality. We do feel after operating it for a month that this lamp is a solid, strong construction. It holds up well! Had it not tarnished that little bit, I would have given it 5 stars.

At Last a Good Hurricane Lamp
Reviewed By:   (Whately, MA)
At last a well designed and well made hurricane lamp! The glass is designed to tip out so you can easily clean it. The shaft lifts up easily to allow lighting. The key for the wick ratchet is easy to turn and the gear actually works! A good product. Gut gemacht!

Bought as an emergency power out light and it will be excellent augmenting our battery lights. It is excellent on the patio as mood lighting. Very high quality.
