Shellac Flakes

Seedlac (also known as "Button Lac") is a very low grade dark brown shellac. It was the grade used in the 17th and 18th centuries. Use to patch and match old finishes and on dark woods. Superb on stained pine to make it look mellow. Once you make it up, strain it through fine mesh cheese cloth prior to use.

AC Garnet is a less refined grade of orange shellac. It is more refined than Seedlac and develops a reddish-orange hue when liquefied.

Orange is the most popular general purpose shellac finish. Use as a sealer coat over dark woods to seal in oils, natural resins, and to seal Pine knots.

Super Blonde is the most refined grade of orange shellac offered. It makes the very best light shellac finish and is as near to a "water white" color as you can get without bleaching. It is 99% pure shellac resin, "wax free", and is extremely clear bodied. Can be tinted for a clear dye stain effect.
