These beautiful lamps bring history to light
There's something about the soft glow of oil lamps; the peaceful mood they set is a welcome antidote to the pace of the modern world. We've recently found a company in Taiwan who does really handsome work in 100% Solid Brass. These lamps are a fascinating window into history as well lovely working lights in their own right.
The 9" Mine Safety Lamp in its "official version" was used to test air quality in dangerous mining operations. (Please note this is a replica and should only be used as a household light.)
The 11" high, 5-1/4" round light is a Masthead Anchor Lamp. The 10" high square base light (4" square) is a Cargo Lantern (for inspection in a ship's hold etc. during the 19th century.) Both the Anchor Light and the Cargo Lantern have a large hanging hook.
