The world famous USA-based Starrett Tool Company has designed two easy-to-use bevel/protractors (both of which function the same way) to quickly find the correct setting for your power mitre box or chop saw. Working accuracy is 1/2°. These tools have 2 scales; one is for cutting a mitred joint and the other to fit a single piece at an angle - like making a butt joint into a corner.
Upside down or backwards, the reading is always correct. Directly read the setting for your mitre box. The large 12" size is preferred if space allows, but the small 7" Bevel/Protractor is perfect to carry at the ready in your pocket or if working space is tight. Get both at the same time and save even more.
