First rate Bypass Hand pruners are nearly impossible to find at these prices. We know because we've got our eye out for exactly that. When the makers of our popular HD Loppers introduced these Superb Hand Pruners we jumped at the chance to offer them. With performance comparable to more expensive pruners, and as an added value, a model designed especially for those of us with smaller hands. After all, there is a real virtue in having "his and hers" tools - just think, no more borrowing.

The smaller size is 6" in length, and the full-sized version is 8". Get a matched set of two and save.

  • Gail's Clippers

Gail, 8/24/2015 Its not just that these clippers are sturdy and I know they will last forever. The ergonomics and balance of their wait are perfect, as with all Garrett Wade garden tools. I can't believe that a garden tool can really make my day. Seriously, these clippers really make pruning and deadheading so easy and effortless-WELL worth the money!
  • High Quality

Tom Harvey, 5/5/2015 Much higher quality than what you would find at the big box stores. You usually get what you pay for. Nice product.
  • Average Hand Pruners

Brad, 12/31/2014 Good hand pruners seemed to stay sharp after a few uses. Lightweight and good size for small jobs.
  • Satisfied Customer

Robert Lemoi, 3/14/2012 I have arthritis and have had difficulty in the pass with other pruners. I have found the larger pruner for a man to be very easy to use. I have cut a few branches already and have not had any difficulty so far.
  • Lady's ByPass Pruner Has Become My Favorite

Virginia Linnell, 12/28/2011 I ordered the pair of bypass pruners and was very pleased with the feel of both of them. At first I felt the Ladies pruner was too small and I would not use it very much, but after several uses it has become my favorite pruner! It is the first pruner I reach for when trimming flowers for arrangements, which I do on a weekly basis. It's sharp, compact and just so handy - I now keep it in my kitchen drawer and use it all the time. Love it!
  • Not French

NW Gardener, 12/9/2011 These pruners are not made in France. Mine were from a Canadian company Trail Blazer" but stamped "made in Taiwan". The ladies are tiny more like child's size. Maybe they will work for flower arranging/pruning. I kept because of the price. Comparable to Corona, ok not special.

Thank you for sharing your comments on the Bypass Pruners. We have brought this to the attention of the person who writes our descriptions. She agreed that the description is very misleading and is working on changing the copy. The item which the description is referring to is actually the Leather Grip Bypass Shears, which are made in France, itemĀ  #19S02.29. So, to avoid confusion we will change the phrasing.
We initially wanted to offer to send you these instead but they are not currently available.
We apologize that our phrasing wasn't clear and appreciate that you brought this to our attention.
Would you like to return the pruners for a full refund or perhaps have them replaced with another item? If so, please affix the return label which came with the tool and we will give you a full refund upon receipt. If you need a label, please let us know and we will send you one.
  • Small Enough For A Small Lady

Karl, 12/22/2010 I bought this item as a gift for a small lady I know who might otherwise have difficulty using a larger pair of pruners. I thought that this just might be the ticket.
  • Perfect For Ladies...

Penny Beasley, 12/9/2010 These are high quality pruners...perfect for the smaller hands of ladies or young gardeners.
  • Ladies' Hand Pruner

    L. Holden, 4/16/2010 The smaller sized pruner is a breeze to use, sharp precise cutting.
  • So Good I Won't Share

Karen, 12/24/2009 These are so good I keep them locked in my tool chest so the family can't borrow them! They keep a really sharp edge. The blade is removable so they're easily sharpened. They cut a wider range of branch width because the blades do not flex.
  • The Only Pruners My Husband Will Use

Leslie , 4/14/2009 My husband is an avid gardener and received these pruners as a Christmas gift. He loved them! A few weeks ago I borrowed them and inadvertently left them in the front yard. By nightfall the pruners were gone. I have since purchased two different replacement hand pruners from our local home store, but neither compares in quality. I will now purchase both the ladies and the mens pruners so we no longer have to share.
