The level of output selected has a direct impact on battery life. It’s nice to have a good beam throw when you need to see at a distance but if you’re trail walking for many hours (or even days), you only need to see a few feet ahead. Preserving battery life means that you won’t run out when you need it most.
Relatively small for a Tactical size (slips easily in your pants pocket), this uses 2 CR123A batteries, is 5" long and weighs 5 oz. For wide ranging flexibility, this is highly recommended.
