Immortalized by Kipling in Captains Courageous
Fishing schooners of the Grand Banks were by the early 20th century the fastest vessels in the North Atlantic, carrying 10 or more dories from which two-man crews fished by line, speeding back to port with their holds brimming with cod. Little wonder they became such legendary racing vessels—and the most heralded and beloved of all was the Canadian salt-bank schooner Bluenose. Bluenose features plank-on-bulkhead hull construction, majestic fore and aft sails (8), and exquisitely detailed rigging and fittings. Scale 1:64. Length 32-3/4", Beam 5-1/4", Height 27". Display base included. Intermediate level. (Additional air shipping charges apply.)
