Just another attempt at a knife sharpener. Doesn't really sharpen a blade, even to cut cardboard. Cheaper units work just as well as this item. Disappointed! Back to the rotating water grind stone, perfect edge everytime! Response By: Garrett Wade Tech Department A rotating water stone can indeed result in a very keen edge, but not everyone has the skills, experience and nerve to sharpen knives on a grinder of any kind. The SOG Universal Knife Sharpener is intended as a convenient, quick method with which to maintain kitchen and household knives, and it does a great job. Can you shave with your knife afterwards? Maybe not, but you’ll be back to carving roast in the time it would take to walk to your grinder and back.

This sharpener is very easy to use. It has a vacuum base that holds on to the counter allowing greater control over the sharpening process. Sharpens knives quickly as well. It handles all sizes of blades with ease.
