Thiers, France, one of the world's great cutlery centers. These were hand forged decades ago. Serrations make this knife a go-to for any slicing tasks, like carving a ham or roast, or cutting through tough loaves of bread. Features a 9½" carbon steel blade, with symmetrical, scallop-serrations. Can easily slice through hearty sourdough bread, bagels, large melons. There are two steel pins and a brass rosette on the 4¼" Rosewood handle. As a “companion” to our Bread Slicer, the Bread Board was made made for Roger Orfevre, a famed cutlery maker from Thiers, France. It features utilitarian details such as a nick down the side to hold a knife in place, and recessed handles on the under-side, to use as a grip. A generous size at 15" long x 8 5/8" wide and a substantial ¾" thick, this will look better and better with regular use. For both, hand wash only. Quantities are limited.
