Professional gardeners want tough, sharp tools that can be used all day. We have carried this USA maker's shovels and spades for years and our customers love them. So we added their full-sized gardening fork. The 4130 tough chrome molybdenum alloy steel tines and handle are carefully heat treated to produce a tool that is exceptionally strong. The handle is fully plated and the tines painted for rust protection. The optional rubber Foot Pad does not come with it as standard, but it can be mounted on either side of the handle. Made in the USA.

  • Great digger

Suzi, 9/19/2020 Son loved this for his birthday gift
He needed something that could dig into the rocky soil with ease !

  • Great tool.

Constance, 8/18/2020 This digging tine may become my favorite garden tool. It helped break up hard red clay. I purchased the foot pedal and am so glad. It really gives that extra power to lift and dig. I do not think I can garden without this tool.
  • Invaluable

Mr. G, 5/30/2020 Purchased for the wife. She finds the digging fork invaluable for her garden work. It's the perfect length for her height. She didn't like what I paid for it but won't let me return it.
  • Well-designed garden fork to last a lifetime of gardening!

Ellen, 5/28/2020 I bought the fork for my niece Hannah who also wrote a review. I have used a garden fork for years and cannot get along without one. She's my dear niece and I visited her in February, helped her with her garden and thought this was JUST WHAT SHE NEEDED. She LOVES it!! Thank you.
  • Worth every penny

Hannah Kent, 5/24/2020 My aunt bought me this after visiting me and seeing I didn’t have a yard fork. Well she’d mentioned I needed one so I went and bought the Lowe’s craftsmen fork not knowing she was going to buy me this one. At first I felt bad thinking I didn’t need this one...Boy was I wrong. This garden fork is amazing!! It is kinda unbelievable to me how much noticeably better this one is than the other. It slides into the ground easily, never gets stuck, no clumps to shake off, turns my compost so much better. The metal feels great and I like the ergonomics of it especially the shaft being not a circle but more an oval and the handle isn’t oversized. I love this thing and now am looking at all the wonderful things this company makes. You get what you pay for and this thing will last a lifetime no doubt.
  • Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

Mike D, 4/23/2020 This is an awesome pitchfork, best I’ve ever used and worth every penny. Extremely well built, you will not find a better one anywhere.
  • The perfect garden fork

Tim Ruhlman, 4/18/2020 I was using a regular pitch fork to work the garden until the handle broke. I shopped around and decided on this garden fork. I like that it's made in the USA, it looked well made and the price was good. I just finished working the garden with it and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It digs so much easier than the pitch fork did and it didn't clog once. This garden fork is very well made and makes life easier. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Thanks for making a great product and not a cheap piece of junk.
  • My Forever Fork

Chris, 4/18/2020 The main attraction to this gardening fork is it's total lack of wood. I'm not always the best at keeping all the garden tools out of the weather, so this one is full proof for people like me. It is, of course, heavier than my previous fork, but I'm already accustom to it. The tines are the perfect width and spacing for turning the compost and digging up plants in my heavy clay soil. This fork and I are going to be lifelong friends
  • Good Strong Fork

Zoran, 4/2/2020 Sturdy, strong and very well made. It's all one piece, so there's no weak points to disconnectneeded an all purpose fork; I have clay soil and a lot of brush and weeds to clear. I also use it to turn my compost. It's much shorter than I expected, however, given the weight you can put on this thing, I think that's for the best. Glad I spent some extra money. I've broken a few tools in my clearing work and this one got right under the big roots to lift em all up. Very pleased.
  • Gardening fork

Brody Hayek, 3/26/2020 We’re to begin. This gardening fork is well with any amount of money spent. I have black gumbo soil which can have its own challenges... after tilling the soil work is still sometimes needed. After breaking 3 other competitors gardening forks I was done. I had lost all hope until I found this. I have truly put it through the ringer and it still preforms like a champ. 1,000 times hands down the best gardening fork yet.
  • Better than I expected!

Steve, 4/26/2019 This digging fork is very well made. I bought it to prepare my raised-bed garden after the handle on the "home center" fork I bought a year ago failed. I set out to find something better, and I'm completely satisfied with this one. It went through my four 3ft-wide by 30ft-long beds very quickly and made the job much more pleasant because of the comfort of the handle and overall strength of the fork. I am glad to see that "Made In USA" still means high quality. Thanks Garrett Wade!
  • A manly tool

James Schuck, 4/6/2019 Solid, manly tool with enough weight to be really useful.
  • 4 tine Gardening Fork

Nancy, 4/28/2018 It arrived two days ago and I've been digging ever since. It is a wonderful tool, replacing another wonderful tool I bought many years ago. Thank you so much for your quality merchandise.
  • Garden Fork

Harold Glazier, 9/18/2017 No doubt best fork ever! Bought one from the local hardware and about an hour into my work dam thing snapped off and almost hurt me at 68 doesn’t take much lol. Took it back for a refund and found Garret Wade online payed a little more for the quality but it is all in the tool. The fork is so well built and when you add the pedal to the top there isn’t any soil too hard for this Beast!
  • My new favorite garden tool

Cathy, 6/13/2017 This is a replacement for a very well used garden fork that finally had enough. It is not as graceful (the dead fork was forged iron with an ash handle) but it does a finer job in the digging category. My other fork was many years old and had more recently been used to dig out over 120 feet of poplar roots after I had the trees removed ... how I wish I'd had this fork then! Flat tines are great when one needs to get into compacted soil, the design of these tines look flat in the picture, but they are somewhat triangular on the back side, which makes digging a pleasure. Even without a digging pad, the foot rest to assist are a bonus, my old fork was lacking, they make the job just that much easier. This fork will last a long time and will be a joy to use! I have not shopped at Garrett Wade for years, but they were first to mind when I was looking for a new garden fork.

  • Fabulous product

Rachel D., 6/10/2017 Well-made, high-quality product. Bought this for my boyfriend who is 6' tall and it's perfect for him. He loves it. I did not purchase the foot pad, but he likes the ledge where the foot pad would go. Very pleased with this and works wonderfully. Highly recommended.
  • Well designed, rugged, and a pleasure to use.

Joseph, 3/25/2017 Best Garden Fork I've ever found. This one made short work of a pretty demanding job breaking up soil compacted in a large raised bed for about 18 years! The times were sharp enough to penetrate and with a little side to side and back and forth motion, they got down a good 11 - 12" inches. I was a little concerned about prying up from that depth, but the fork was more than equal to the task. I might add that we have been in a drought around here for several months so the soil was especially difficult for all my other garden tools - but not this fork.
  • Great Digging Fork

Christine Rasmussen, 3/14/2017 After visiting all of the box stores and garden centers in my area, I finally found a decent digging fork at Garrett Wade to replace the one I've had for the last 30 years. The Foot Pad is awesome-I didn't know they existed. Will really help with my heavy clay soil.
  • Check Compatibility

Henry W., 7/28/2015 Seemed like a good idea when I ordered one with my 'root cutter spade'. Could not use it because it does not fit the 'root cutter spade'! I had to return the Optional foot pad.
  • Tough Tool

    D. Okerson, 6/27/2015 Plant science has been a large part of our family for generations so the tools we seek out are based primarily on durability. I was actually contemplating having a custom digging fork made when my wife pointed out this fork. I was impressed by it's fabrication so I ordered two of them. We have used them. It's heavy in construction and weight. It' also apparent if used with any common sense this tool will last a life time. The best part, however, is when I" did the order, I screwed it up and didn't realize it until after I had submitted the order. Garrett Wade is new to me so I was a little nervous about getting the order corrected. My hat's off to the ladies that helped me. They were all kind, helpful and it was all corrected just as they said it would be."
  • Finally Found What I Need

Tante Francine, 12/14/2014 I am 76 years old and single and I love roses that need to be planted in deep holes with amended soil if you have clay. Yesterday I used this with the Super-Penetration Shovel to dig a hole. It had rained 2 days before, so the ground was soft but sticky. I successfully dug out a 24x20 hole. The tines are strong with long tapered points which were very helpful when I took out one 13x9x8 inches concrete block and several smaller ones that the construction worker had buried when the house was being readies for renovation. They easily penetrated between the 'rocks' so I could wiggle them out and then used the shovel to help loosen them and finally lift the heavy 'rock' out. Also managed to dig out the long yellow roots of some weeds. I need to dug out more holes, but I am glad to have these tools now. I made sure to wash the sticky clay off the tools before I took them into the house.

  • OVERPRICED... Until you try it

Marvin Howard, 4/29/2014 THIS REVIEW is NOT for the 4-tine Digging Fork but for the Optional Foot Pad. Bought one of these foot pads for attaching to the Deep-Penetration Shovel I ordered for my avid gardening wife last Christmas. I was put off by the price (it cost as much as the last shovel I purchased!), but to pay as much as I did for the Penetration Shovel and NOT get this accessory seemed to cheapen the gift so.... When my wife used the shovel, she told me how great it was and especially how much she enjoyed the rubber foot rest. She said that the combination of the shovel and the foot rest made digging a pleasure! Then she said she wished it had come with two foot rests (one for each side). Her wish was my command. She's now got probably the ONLY Deep Penetration Shovel on earth with TWO foot rests!
  • A Much Needed Accessory

Marvin Howard, 3/16/2014 Bought my wife the Super Penetration Shovel for Christmas. She is an avid gardener so I thought a more permanent quality shovel (along with the new raised beds I built for her veggie garden) would be aided by a soft foot pad for said shovel, so I bought her one of the ($14 Garrett Wade! ) footpads to go with the shovel. Couldn't believe when it arrived how little foot pad $14 buys you nowadays (I'd say its WORTH is MAYBE $4 ) But she loved the shovel and uses it all the time and when I told her that the foot pads were available separately she asked if I would get her another one for the other side of the blade. she now has the deluxe" version of this shovel (the one with $28 worth of foot cushions! I don't know WHAT rating my wife would have rated this purchase at if she knew that she could have bought a NEW, albeit lesser shovel with what I paid for the pads!"
  • Finally a Real Tool!

Nancy Kelker, 12/27/2013 I've had a hard time finding a digging fork that would stand up to working hard clay. The forks offered at the big box hardware stores and even local hardware/gardening stores are cheaply made and the fork tends to fall out of the wooden handles when you try to dig. But all that annoyance is a thing of the past! The all metal Garrett Wade fork does not fall apart and is more that sufficiently strong to deal with ultra hard clay. It has made me a happy gardener!
  • Strongest Fork Available

Dan Clark, 11/1/2013 My parents taught me about gardening before I entered kindergarten, starting with planting sunflowers and pumpkins back around 1950. Its a great way to start kids -- sunflowers were taller than me, pumpkins were to heavy for me to pick up. Been gardening ever since. I take good care of my tools, storing them inside and dry. I've gone through many wooden-handled garden forks over the decades, the last handle falling off (*not* breaking) from dry rot inside the socket. This steel-handled, all welded steel fork with heavy tines should last me the rest of my life (and maybe one of my grand kids lives as well)! I think if I ever drove over it with my car a tire could be ruined from a puncture but the fork would be just fine.

  • The best

Lezley Ahonen, 1/2/2013 I bought this for a Christmas gift for my sister and she told me it was the best one she had ever seen.
  • Please renovate

Darlene Blythe, 7/10/2012 I bought the 4-tine digging fork (we call it a potato fork) but was slightly disappointed because it had the horse shoe handle which is probably fine for a man but for a woman with small hands it is hard to handle. May I suggest you make one with a straight handle (no horse shoe handle). Thank you.
