The Kitchen Scissors are 8½" long and made of stainless steel. They are relatively heavy, with micro-serrations and a built-in shell cracker (nuts, crab, lobster, etc). The two sections have an unusual "flatted" design which gives them a very sturdy feel in your hand.
The Grater is stainless steel, sized 3½ x 5½" and only ¾" thick when folded. It easily fits flat in the kitchen drawer and takes 2 seconds to open - just lift and unfold the leg and you're ready to go at it. It will grate the very hardest cheeses, but the style of teeth can also be used for things like nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, croutons, chocolate, etc. The grated particles fall down into the integrated base. When finished, transfer onto a serving plate or directly into what you're cooking. Fold the grater back up and put it in the dishwasher. Done, done, and done. It's terrific. Makes a great gift set.
