This is a smaller “pen knife” style, originally meant to sharpen quill pens and shave pencils. Small and light enough to carry easily in your pocket. Because of its modest size, (this thin knife 6¾" long when open), it needs no lock. The silver handle gracefully tapers to only 3/8" at the butt. Great for a million small jobs that crop up during the day, and inconspicuous to boot. A half-moon thumb indent on the blade aids in opening.

  • Stylish medium-duty knife

Terry C. Norris, 4/10/2018 The knife is well made and smooth enough to fit in a pocket, although it is almost too big for that. Then again, I prefer a small knife for my pocket. It is large and sturdy enough to handle average cutting jobs: it's too big for fine work, but not quite big enough for heavy cutting or slicing. The lack of a blade lock also limits how much torque one would feel comfortable applying during a cutting job. It would probably cut up a cardboard box without any trouble. The only difficulty there is the smooth finish; it makes getting a firm grip on it a bit tricky, though it does fit the hand nicely. However, the smooth finish adds to the beauty of the knife. It was reasonably sharp out of the box and takes an edge well. Overall, it is reasonably functional and would probably be a good conversation piece.
