This Tough Utility Knife just exudes durability and a do-everything attitude. Quite simply, it can handle anything, from splitting kindling, to cutting up cardboard boxes for recycling, to camp crafts, to yard work. This is a great knife for professional’s, carpenters and DIY-loving homeowners alike. Just a great tool to have handy. The nearly-¼" thick, 4¼" long cleaver-style blade can take a blow from a hammer or the butt of an axe, so don’t be afraid to really put it to the test. The durable steel blade runs full tang down the length of the 4" Rosewood handle. Overall, 8.5" long. The scales are held in place by two pins, and a third hollow ring rivet at the butt where you can thread a leather thong for storing this tool when it’s not in use (which won’t be very often). A spectacular value, you won’t be disappointed.

  • Utility knife

Lance Winner, 12/3/2020 At the price it can’t be beat! Fit of scales is poor but 20 minutes of sanding and a thin two coats of tung oil and you have a great tool that looks classy!
  • A good heavy duty knife

C E VOIGTSBERGER, 9/16/2020 This knife is a good value for what I wanted. The blade is a full 3/16 of an inch thick and the edge length is 4.25 inches. While the scales are not exactly flat with the blade, they are only approximately 1/64 of an inch proud. They are certainly a huge improvement over the scales on the trio of French paring knives that I ordered at the same time. The scales on two of those looked like a failed attempt by the first day on the job apprentice. The sheath, of course, is a joke. I think I will use it for my short slide rule. Yeah, I'm that old. I was planning on buying a leather sheath from Smokey Mountain Knife Works when I read the review, so I knew what I was getting. I will say that the metal work is much better than the first knife that GW sold that looked very similar to this. Overall, the quality is much higher on this knife than the first lool-alike. I use them for batoning kindling when camping and they are perfect for that purpose. The blade is sharp and easy to re-sharpen and the blade thickness makes it ideal for the rough use that batoning creates for the knife.
  • Seems like it will take a beating.

Matt D, 6/11/2020 If this wasn't so cheap, it would lose one more star. The sheath it comes with doesn't have a belt loop and I'm afraid the knife is going to cut right through it. There's about an 1/8th inch gap between the top of the scales and the tang. The two sides of the tang aren't ground evenly, but this does not affect the blade. HOWEVER this knife was cheap and really does look like you could beat the snot out of it. If the metal holds up, maybe I'll consider making nicer scales that actually fit the tang. If you have free shipping or need to spend another $10 or so to get your order over the free shipping threshold, I wouldn't think twice about buying it. However, I wouldn't spend $14 on this knife and then another $12 to ship it.
